Finally a post from Singapore

Took me a while to figure out how to do this...
here goes
Friday 20th Nov
Its 7.45pm Singapore time and we are ready for sleep.
It’s been a huge day with a 2.30am start, picked up at our door by the airport shuttle bus, then to Brisbane airport, lovely tea and toast for brekkie at Brisbane airport then onto the plane at 9am.
A mixed bag of passengers including about 20 Theatre Nurses from the Gold Coast off to Vietnam to mentor at a hospital there; and Mr. Stinky feet who managed to make the departure lounge reek…Mr. stinky feet kept turning up everywhere we went, you know how that happens. Creepy…..
Singapore airlines was great, they looked after us so well. Just the right amount of yummy food, hot towels, drinks, we had a Singapore sling each, and Russell a couple of wines, but generally we just tucked into our seats and enjoyed the movies. Love the in-flight movies!!!! Really catching up on my chick flicks that I never get to see!
Singapore is lovely the people friendly, so clean and orderly.
A little look around before dinner and we found an internet café for posting this in the morning , and maybe Google talk the boys. As we move around we’ll be writing our entries but will only post when we can so the dates and times of the entries will be different to the posting times on top of each blog entry.
*Alex we found a piano bar with a self playing grand piano, such a hoot and I suggested we applaud for each song but your dad wouldn’t be in it…got a photo to prove it! By the way when I took the picture it was playing “Tears in heaven” just for you! Hilarious! Tired now. !!!!!!!!!

Saturday 21st
7.30am
Dinner at the hotel last night! Delicious, fried rice with crab and chili chutney (not hot) for me and Russ had clay pot baked streaky pork with salted fish and tamarind. And a couple of drinkies and we were in bed by 7.30pm and slept like happy little clams. Going to have a go slow day, bit of a look around, tonight to the airport at 10pm ish and fly out to Roma at 1.00am. 14 hour flight so intending a big sleep on the plane…

Back to our room for a rest. Have to check out at 3pm, leave our bags with the concierge and then we’ll do the riverboat cruise. Been to little India and then to Arab street, stumbled into a market that don’t think was for visitors but pretty awesome…obviously where the Singaporeans eat. Unbelievable smells and sights. Had to use a loo that was , how do you say….challenging…..The hop on off bus so good to see where everything is found so today has been a recon mission for when come back in 4 weeks. Met some people from Barossa Valley, coffs Harbour and Newcastle…gee you can spot an Aussie a mile away! Hope to post this at the airport while we are there waiting, should be right at McDonalds. Tried a Maccas to log on but can’t get it to accept me!!! Will need to speak to my techie at home. Will save these to a flash drive and post at the internet café as they won’t let me plug my computer in…still I’m managing to write at odd times during the day and I like that.
We’re sitting in the foyer of the hotel waiting until 10pm when the airport bus picks us up and scoots us to the airport . Bit tired after so much walking. Still we’ve been to Singapore and I have the t shirt to prove it!
Trust Russell to find the Singapore Hooters…..
